Our supported charity
Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association (CICRA) was founded in 1978 by a group of concerned parents when they learnt that a privately sourced research project looking into childhood IBD was to be discontinued due to lack of funds. IBD is the collective term for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Today CICRA continues to raise funds to support approved medical and scientific research aimed at finding more effective treatments and an eventual cure. This research has helped train many of the specialists who today treat children throughout the UK.
It gives support and understanding to parents and carers of sufferers through the many people working with CICRA who have been through the same experience.
